What is the PlanetM Landing Zone?

Located in the heart of the automotive industry, the PlanetM Landing Zone in Downtown Detroit provides a physical entry point for global mobility startups interested in doing business in Michigan to access the vast network of automotive companies, testing infrastructure, talent, and R&D centers based in the Detroit region.

The Landing Zone is a partnership between the Detroit Regional Chamber and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC), and is designed to serve as the hub where member start-ups can engage with Michigan’s traditional automotive industry to connect, share, and collaborate to drive innovation in next-generation mobility.

The PlanetM Landing Zone is designed to provide:

  • Subsidized and flexible collaborative workspace that facilitates day-to-day encounters with like-minded mobility startups, industry, and other decision makers

  • Access to curated events, tours, delegations, and other exclusive opportunities to connect startups to established automotive industry leaders, investors, and other decision makers

  • Customized wrap-around services from the Detroit Regional Chamber and Michigan Economic Development Corp., to speed up access to key services and partners in the market.

  • Strategic introductions to global automotive firms based in Michigan

  • Access to a network of expert partners that can assist with a wide range of issues including legal, capital, talent, and marketing.

  • Strategy and support tapping into the statewide economic development network to support company growth.

Mobility Meetups

Mobility Meetups are hosted by the Detroit Regional Chamber and PlanetM and take place on the eighth floor at WeWork Merchant’s Row. They are designed to bring together dynamic startups in the automotive technology space with Michigan's automotive and mobility industry stakeholders to connect, share and collaborate.
